Creating A Dialogue With God

By Alison Wilcox

Disturbing thoughts can often plague a person and this is the time to develop a dialogue with God. It is a useful tool to use just a child would ask his or her parents for something they want. This could be for a variety of reasons depending on the needs of the child.

For example, a child may ask his parents for sweets. His repeated request may go unanswered for the simple reason that his parents know better and have life experience. His parents know that the more they encourage their child to eat sweets this may not be the best thing for his state of health.

Taking this idea a step further, we may ask for things in life we inevitably just do not realize in our lifetime. God for some people can be likened to an eternal Father that knows what is best. However, just as a child makes requests from his or her parents so too is it important to open a dialogue of questioning with whomever one feels may guide them to better ends.

In essence should a person not formulate a dialogue of this nature whether it be with his parents or with God for that matter, he or she may not find the answers and resolutions to his or her requests. A child may not understand the reasons why a parent may say no to his or her requests and will realize that he or she may just as well stop asking for those things that are not forthcoming.

The reasons sometimes become apparent later on in life as the child develops and matures. Those reasons can sometimes become apparent much sooner in life when the child inevitably has to pay a visit to the Dentist and experience a certain amount of pain. Questioning and dialogue such as this is essential even though we may not understand why it is we do not get those things we so dearly ask for.

However, a dialogue of this nature helps the individual to choose the correct path through his or her lifetime. The reasoning here is that life is a learning process and that each individual was born with his or her own intelligence in figuring out what is best suited for their own individual lifestyle. This is where creating a dialogue with people whether it is for advice is important.

Sometimes though in life people are at a loss as to who to turn to. This is when a dialogue with God becomes important because of the fact that when one feels alone and feels as though he has nobody to turn to, he or she can make a request to the greater forces that be. Essentially most people believe that there are greater forces than themselves in the Universe so therefore it is probable that their are higher spiritual forces that guide a person through their lifetime.

Creating a dialogue with God is an important part of life in order to realize ones full potential. It is a means in finding true happiness with oneself and with life. Communication is vital in order to find those resolutions to problems you may be experiencing.
