The Simple Truth Of Prosperity Scriptures

By Zoe Smith

Answer honestly: do you sometimes think that God doesn't care about you having abundance and prosperity here on earth? I mean, He has the whole world to run right? True He watches over everyone on earth but He is God and He makes time to make sure you are healthy and more than well taken cared of. If you still can't wrap your mind around this truth, walk with me through several prosperity scriptures in the Bible.

God does not leave His people wanting. In fact, many of His chosen men are renowned to have great possessions and supernatural favor. Abraham had so much livestock and men born in his household that the rich land was not enough to supply him and his nephew's possessions and they had to separate. And have you heard about Sarah and her beauty? At ninety, a king asked to bring her to the palace intending to make her his woman. Were they lacking blessings in any area of their lives? I don't think so.

What about Joseph? He was a father's favorite, sold by his jealous brothers to a slave trader. He landed in Egypt where he helped prosper Potiphar before he was thrown to prison by the scorned mistress of the household. Now he's in prison, again faithfully serving people even as he seemed to be forgotten and rejected by people he trusted and cared about. This almost reads like a hopeless life if not for the twist that he becomes Egypt's revered prime minister in one day. Is your story? Years strewn with broken promises and darkened memories? God knows all about you and He too will lift up your head.

But maybe you think, even if God's will is prosperity, it's reserved for the Jews many years ago and not for me. Think again. Read the New Testament in closer detail especially the book of Ephesians, and you will understand that today you, yes you sitting there reading this article, are a partaker of the promises given to Abraham. Genesis 12:2-3 gives Gods promise, 'I will bless you and make your name great; I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families on earth shall be blessed' it was for Abraham and now it is for you too.

There are many instances in the Bible that seems to promote the state of poverty. It's true you can learn from it but God cannot promote poverty because He uses prosperity as a gift to people who follow His ways. 1 Chronicles 22:13 For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the LORD gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart! Mark 10:29-30 'Yes', Jesus replied, 'and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property-along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.'

Alongside many of the prosperity scriptures you will find warnings and encouragements to put ones faith in God not in riches because wealth has only a passing value. It is wise advice and complements perfectly with Gods will for your prosperity. Jesus said in John 10:10, 'The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.'--Let's make sure we put this promise to good use.
