The Viewpoint Of The Church On Christian Psychic Reading

By Annabelle Holman

The process or efforts in trying to access information by the use of augmented perceptive aptitudes and natural extensions of the various human senses of touch, sight, instinct, taste and sound is referred to as Psychic reading. Every statement that is made during the execution of these abilities and others such as clairvoyance (hearing), clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (feeling) and claircognisense (factual knowing) are all a bigger part of these practices. Is Christian psychic reading acceptable?

Astrology is mostly identified type of these practices and it is a prognostic analysis based on the moons alignment, the stars and on across the sky. It has been practiced for many years way before methods that have been scientifically for astral observations came into use. Aura reading refers to the ability and practice of observing and interpreting the incandescent and subtle radiation field that normally surrounds an individual or item. Other forms include lithomancy, tarot and rune reading.

These practices have been highly condemned by the church and any individual in the church who practiced or tolerated it is highly predestined. Christians have deemed anything that is out of the ordinary to be of a negative effect to the body of an individual. The members of this community who practice these abilities have claimed that their abilities come from God hence the powers and skills they have been given is in the purest form.

Those who practice and are not saved are believed to use dark powers by a part of the Christian communities both those who exercise and not. The entitlement is that these extra ordinary abilities are God gifted and are supposed to help his children find their paths in life. Even though some sections have embraced these practices the bible has always taught against these strange abilities and cautioned Gods children from participating or encouraging the use of these abilities.

The book of Leviticus warns Gods children against turning to medium and necromancers since they will render them unclean. It also warns mediums and necromancers from exercising, since they will be stoned to death and their blood will be against them. Another book that strongly denounces divination is Leviticus where the Lord distances himself from the false prophets saying that they speak with a lying vision and worthless divination and deceits of their own minds.

The book of Samuel chapter 15 puts a comparison to the sin committed by rebellion as to the sin of divination, a sin committed by resumption and iniquity as to that of idolatry. The book also continues to warn those individuals who use divination will be rejected by the lord. Exodus claims that any person practicing sorcery is to be put to death.

If Christian diviners are existent among us why does the church reject them and the bible condemn them so intensely. These individuals have many at times been found as frauds who extort money or possessions from individuals and are believed to acquire enormous amounts of information about individuals by ordinary means.

But in some special instances they have been in possession of some vital information that is really difficult to obtain by physical assessment. The church and the bible concur that this are dark forces, hence they are not from God but from Satan. The bible claims Satan is deceitful and pretends to be an angel of God, hence sorcery and anything in its likeness is not acceptable by a huge majority of Christians.
