Knowing How To Build A Close Relationship With God

By Francis Riggs

It becomes an amazing thing to develop an intimate affiliation on God. It reflects a totally reborn heart because it is just those who are already in Christ desire this. It should be kept in mind that there is no point in the life of Christians will one get close to our Lord as they would wish for. The reason is persistent sinning on the part of human beings. Sin is an obstacle preventing us from achieving complete communion through the Lord. Below is a discussion about how to build a close relationship with God.

First and foremost is constant confession of sins. As it has been already said that sin is the obstacle standing between us and God then confession is the only way to remove it. Our Lord has promised to forgive us on the condition that we have to confess first. Even among human beings it is forgiveness which restores strained relationships.

Bear in mind however that confession is more than just saying sorry. It should come from a sincere heart when one recognizes his or her sins offend the All Holy God. It is a confession of someone who understands that it is because of the sins of human beings the Jesus Christ was nailed on the cross to pay for them and every time one sins they nail Him there again.

People have closer moments to Almighty when they listen to Him. Many are still waiting for a supernatural experience of an encounter in God, but Peter says that the Bible is the surest way of listening to God. So people should read it regularly to know what he is speaking.

Having regular prayers is brings you closer to God. We can only speak to Almighty through prayers as he speaks to us through the Bible. Do not pray only when you are in problems. Reading the psalms in the bible is also praying, which can improve how you relate with the creator. The psalms adore, have contrition, supplications and poems of thanksgiving to God.

Finding a church to fellowship with regularly is important in this process of getting close to God. It not only presents us with an opportunity to attend church services regularly but also a chance to interact with other believers too. This helps us to grow even closer to our Lord through sharing of experiences and testimonies.

Obeying his commandments makes you a closer child to him. Those who were obedient in the scriptures got rewarded. This means that you will receive his grace and also salvation if you simply obey him. You will get saved when you repent and live according to his will. Obeying God shows that we appreciate his mercies in our lives.

So when you ask for forgiveness, have bible study sessions, join the congregation to worship him and obey his words, you will without doubt have an excellent relationship on him. It is not that simple. You can use examples of how you relate through other people to know this. Those who stay together, have regular encounters, express their feelings openly and listen well as the others speak have fair relationships. This is also how you should relate with God and be his companion.
